Egyptian poet El Abnoudy Dies After Long Illness

By Council Nedd II

Renowned Egyptian poet Abdel Rahman El Abnoudy, has died at 77 after a long illness. He was a wonderful man who touched the lives of so many through his powerful words — mine included.

Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi mourned his death calling him, “a defender of civilization and values whose words and spirit would live on.”

May he rest in peace, and may light perpetual shine upon him.
